The client is a Group company of one of India's largest industrial conglomerates and market leader in manufacturing of specialized chemicals for industrial and consumer goods. The Innovation Centre set up by the client with the objective of developing world-class R&D facility, working on more than 20 projects in the areas of nanotechnology and biotechnology, was under expansion. This expansion to serve a much wider base of clients, from the Group companies as well as external companies was a critical business goal for the client.
With multiple vendors hired to perform disparate jobs, the project was by now facing an increased risk in terms of cost and time overruns. A fixed bid contract for parts and installation of fire fighting systems had already created immense stretch on getting the work front ready.
Taking the challenge head-on, our team prioritised the tasks, prepared a highly detailed schedule of all activities and ensured proactive communication with every related agency, the very moment work front was available. This helped the client as well as all other stakeholders to gain a clear view of the progress, costs and operational issues that had sprouted up while execution. Establishing single point of contact to resolve all critical hold-ups, we simultaneously mobilised the team to kick-start the work on site.
Installing fire fighting system demands fine balance of several aspects, the regulatory standards, site conditions, changing equipment costs and availability, while meeting client expectations.
At several instances, our team's prudent know-how and practitioner's point of view helped to reveal non-compliance to safety standards and equipment choices that could have delayed the execution or led to cost overruns. At every stage, our team not just convinced the client, but came up with alternate design, highlighted the procurement options and proactively co-ordinated with all stakeholders for speedy execution.
Our expert team was instrumental in bringing several new ideas to the table, which saved both, costs and time, while ensuring compliance with the highest safety standards.
